Creative Sonoma announces $180,000 in grants to 45 arts and cultural nonprofits
SANTA ROSA, CA | March 04, 2025
Santa Rosa, CA – Creative Sonoma is pleased to announce the recipients of its Arts Impact Grants for Organizations program, designed to sustain Sonoma County’s creative and cultural nonprofits and demonstrate the power of the arts to contribute to the social cohesion of our communities. A record 45 arts and cultural nonprofits will be awarded a total of $180,000 to provide programs and services across the county. For 2025, these general operating support and arts project grants are funded by the County of Sonoma and the National Endowment for the Arts.
“The unprecedented number of grantees reflects the expansive cultural offerings that are produced every day in this county,” said Supervisor Lynda Hopkins, chair of the Board of Supervisors. “The growth in awardees is also a result of the ongoing efforts by Creative Sonoma to support previously unfunded cultural groups.”
Fifty-two eligible organizations applied for an Arts Impact Grant, with 45 organizations chosen to receive grant awards of $4,000 each. Successful applicants demonstrated a commitment to providing equitable access to and participation from communities of color and other traditionally marginalized communities. Applications for projects that advance the community’s awareness and understanding of environmental sustainability were also encouraged.
